I'm a real traditionalist when it comes to weather. I like the seasons to occur in the month they were intended to occur, and feel the way they were intended to feel. Unfortunately, I live in Arizona, and we don't have seasons. We have season. As in ONE.
And it last for a good 9-10 months.
Then we have our two months of Spring and Fall, which occur in February and January respectively. This week we are having winter. But it's Wednesday now which means winter is half over.
You see my problem. The weather here is wonky.
The only way I survive the hell that is our summer, is by taking advantage of the January that is our fall.
So while the rest of the country is hulled up in their houses enduring record breaking lows, we went hiking.
Ironically, every person we passed on the trail had something to say about how cold it was.
60 degrees and sunny IS. NOT. COLD.
Anyways, it was nice to get out and above the city and suburbs, breathe fresh desert air and get a little dirty. Just a little. It reminded me how hard core my littles are. Kids can hike like little pros. (def got that from Mr.) Even Ava was hardcore and slept peacefully snuggled up in her Moby wrap the entire time. Don't you love how scruffy and homeless we all look. Seriously, there is some kind of universal truth about being a mother, the very second I'm not combing, changing, wiping, cleaning, matching them, their hair, their clothes they take on a general raggedy orphan look. Perpetual entropy.
I guess everything's a little bit like that in life, which sometimes amazes me, and sometimes makes me feel exhausted.
I don't really know where I am going with this, (seriously, weather to the second law of thermodynamics?)
So I'll just end by saying I am a huge fan of this Moby wrap Mr. got me for Christmas. Why oh why didn't they have these back when Hannah was a baby and had colic? Ava is so so happy in there, and I can get so much done without feeling like a bad mommy for neglecting my child.
I'm heading to New York for a textiles show in a couple weeks and I'm seriously considering ditching the stroller altogether and just bringing this for carting her around the city with me.
