Did you know that my prom dress wasn't a dress at all? It was a soft pink tulle ballerina skirt and a fitted pink satin top. I was so ahead of my time. Somehow, I must have innately known that 13 years down the road I would once again find myself bedecked in a full ballerina skirt and feeling super good that my 17 year-old self had the wherewithal to beg my mother to make me one. I'm not going to tell you how my round face, overdone hair and braces did not do that ensemble justice. (Curse you horrible awkward stage!) I will tell you that my mom did a bananas job on that skirt.
That woman has skills I dream about.
Seriously though. Do you have a tulle skirt yet, cause...
every. woman. should. have. one.
Are you going to feel a bit like a cupcake some of the time wearing it?
The rest of the time you're going to feel awesome.
After all, where's the fun in being a woman if you don't get to wear a big obnoxiously fluffy skirt sometimes?
A word to the wise:
A tulle skirt is a labor of love if you feel so inclined to sew one.
You're going to labor, but you'll love it.
