Why hello there.
I'm Cori. And this is my blog.
There are two things you should know about me: I'm under 5 feet tall, and I always have chapstick in my pocket.
My husband's name is Craig, but you can call him Mr. That's what I do as payback for all those horrible Mrs. Robinson jokes I got when we were first married. People almost always think his name is Greg when they meet him. (oddly?) He's basically the best human being I've ever met, and I love him like whoa.
We have 4 littles (ie. children if you don't speak Cori) I call them the littles because they are uncommonly small for their age (my bad) and also because I loved "The Littles" books when I was young and when they came out all tiny and adorable I started calling them that and it stuck. Their real names are: Hannah, Carter, Ethan, and Ava. Being their mom is literally the best.
I love to read, but I'm only able to do it manically. As in, if I start a book and love it, I don't sleep until I've finished. There have been a lot of sleepless nights around here. (My favorites are Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, and Shannon Hale -to name a few) Please go and read this book immediately. I know it's a weird title, but trust me you will thank me later. ;-)
About a year ago, I dreamed up my own clothing line after I saw an old photograph of my grandparents dressed to the nines and thought to myself, "I wish someone still made clothes like that." You know the kind, where every stitch mattered and you didn't put them in the toss pile after a season. That little thought sprang into an idea, which tickled my brain until I couldn't ignore it anymore and eventually I started designing, Mr. gave me the guts (and admittedly the money) and suddenly I had my own little indie clothing label. There was a great deal more blood, sweat and tears that went (still goes) into it, but I won't bore you with that. I will tell you that every piece in my line is dreamed, designed, sourced and stitched right here in the USA. A fact that I am wildly proud of. I've put so much of my heart into my clothing line, I call it my 5th baby and it keeps me up at night even more than my newborn. It's called Corilynn, and I love it a lot.
A few more things you probably don't really care to know, but here you go.
I'm:
a night owl.
a south paw.
the middle child. (3rd of 6)
hazel eyed.
(almost) always late.
and have a (probably) unhealthy relationship with hot chocolate.
(Mr. calls it my Mormon coffee.)
Which by the way, I am.
Mormon that is.

What's your favorite poem by Robert Frost? I just love him! I memorized "Nothing Gold Can Stay" in middle school when we had to read the "Outsiders".

I love your blog! I also LOVE the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. My ex lived in Guernsey, and I spent a lot of time there last year- it is without doubt one of the most beautiful places in the world. x
ReplyDeleteI have just stumbled upon your blog and I must say, out of all of the blogs that I follow it is one of the most heart felt and fashionable I have ever read. I love your clothing line and I actually purchased one of your skirts mid last year and I'm in the process of deciding on which Riding Skirt to get (the rust or the ginger oh the decisions) haha....I noticed that you love to read. I am a co-blogger for a book blog with a couple of awesome young ladies, one being my best friend, when you have time you should hop on over.
